After mandatory registration with NÚSZ Zrt. (HU-GO) and vehicle data entry, this device enables automatic, seamless toll reporting. Registration is required before you can use the device for toll reporting.
How the E-toll System Works
The Skyguard OBU Easy is designed to make toll compliance easy: no need to pre-plan every route or buy individual route tickets. Since July 1, 2013, vehicles over 3.5t must pay tolls on major Hungarian roads (categories J2, J3, J4). Using lower-category roads is only allowed in special, permitted cases—violations can result in heavy fines.
Unlike pre-purchased route tickets (which cannot be modified once bought), the OBU device lets you pay for road usage in real time as you travel, even if your route or trailer changes.
The device uses GPS to determine your position and transmits this data via GSM to the central system, which calculates toll fees based on your vehicle’s axle number and environmental classification, deducting the fee from your HU-GO balance.
